A web log is the original term used to describe an online journal or series of posts. This eventually became abbreviated blog.

The growth in the number and influence of Blogs on the internet has been nothing short of amazing. It seems a whole new language has emerged around blogs. Everyone wants to know what is happening in the blogosphere which is of course populated by bloggers.
